Your Dying Spouse 421 - A Caregiver Needs Moments Of Silence {#adventpoto2017}

Being a caregiver for a dying husband or wife is an awesome responsibility.

Too awesome. Too heartbreakingly awesome.

Too many moments in the darkness, when only the darkness answers.

And where will you turn?

Did Mary feel this, knowing that the child she was carrying would complete her soul, and break her heart? She new the prophecy of Isaiah, after all.

When the angel told her of her high calling, did she sit for a moment, letting a holy silence dispel the darkness, before answering him,

"Behold the handmaid of the LORD; be it unto me according to thy word." (Luke 1:38, KJV)

Be it unto you, dear caregiver, according to the marriage promise you made, for decency's sake, and for the Love of God.

What other music could there be here, but Silent Night, sung by David Archuleta and the Mormon Tabernacle Choir?

Today's keyword for Advent-Photo-A-Day is silence.

Friends are everything. I couldn't have done it.

I have another blog, "Starting The Day With Grace". The focus is a grace quote from someone you might not expect (like, say Mick Jagger) and a short commentary. I hope you'll join me.

Marley update... been moved to a sanctuary, and Bay County will revise their 'dangerous dog' codes.

And marley has a Facebook page! Please drop by to see how happy he is today.

If you can, please do leave a comment. I am trying to answer all, and I am failing, but please know this - I read and treasure each one.

Below are my recent releases on Kindle -please excuse their presence in the body of the blog. I haven't the energy to get them up as 'buttons' in the sidebar. You can click on the covers to go to the Amazon links.

  1. Andrew, what a beautiful post. I've been thinking a lot about Mary this Christmas season. I can totally see her taking a moment in silence to consider the angel's words and align her desires with God's plan. Thank you for giving me this pause in my day to consider silence.

    I continue to pray for you, Barb, and your wonderful dogs, my friend.
