Your Dying Spouse 645 - Healing Prayers

Uh-oh. I think I just maybe tore a tumour.

I was doing some fairly easy stretches - gotta stay limber and agile, especially when a fall can be dangerous - when there was a suddenly violently sharp pain in a lump under the left side of my ribcage.

Time to pray for healing, and luckily I just saw a rather well-heeled TV preacher...

They say that there are special ways
to pray for mercy, grace and healing,
special words and turns of phrase
that God will find appealing.
They will send you a DVD
if you love-gift some cash-leaven,
and on it you will find the key
to unlock the vaults of Heaven.
I wonder if God likes these folks,
or thinks they're on a trip,
making the holy seem like jokes,
and is He makin' Hisself a whip?
I'll save my money, hit my knees,
close my eyes, and..."Daddy, PLEASE!"

Music from Swing Out Sister, with The Waiting Game, a charming song and really fun video. Close to the end there's a quick cameo of some Japanese schoolchildren, foreshadowing the happy fact that Swing Out Sister is immensely popular, these days, in Japan.

Thanks to Carol Ashby, Blessed Are The Pure Of Heart is back on Kindle, and will be available in paperback soon.

Friends are everything. I couldn't have done it.

Marley, the canine waif from Afghanistan, whom WE helped save, has a Facebook page! Please drop by to see how happy he is today.

Below are my recent releases on Kindle -please excuse their presence in the body of the blog. I haven't the energy to get them up as 'buttons' in the sidebar. You can click on the covers to go to the Amazon links.

  1. I had to chuckle at the "and is He makin' Hisself a whip" part. Sorry, just something about it struck me funny. I do wonder what God thinks of those televangelists.... but don't rely on them. (Yes, I know you wouldn't!)

Better yet, we are here... and we are lifting you high in prayer about your pain, asking for comfort and healing! Lord, hear our prayers, please! In Jesus precious Name, Amen!

    1. Diana, I'm so gla to give you a laugh! I don't know what God thinks of the televangelists either...truly, I have mixed feelings. Some have wonderful ministry (Caset Treat and Kerry Shook come to mind), while others...

I heard one chap say that illness is a spiritual problem 9and yes, he was hawking a DVD). Found that a bit irritating.

We thank you so much for your prayers, and please know that you and Jerry are in ours.

    1. Linda, I think a lot of them mean well...they just get kinda lost, and need a gentle Hand from Heaven.

  3. You are an internet evangelist. ;-)
Seriously, your messages inspire lots of people. You'll never know until you get to Heaven how much influence you've had here on Earth.

  4. Awww, Andrew. I'm so sorry for the added pain you're dealing with! It will be interesting to see how the Lord sorts out those who you describe in this poem. Thank you for reminding us the best Person to go to for help and healing is the One true God, our Father.

    1. Jeanne, thank you for this. I hope that God will look at the intention, rather than the action, and see that these televangelists, once the desire for fame and fortune was scrubbed away, really did want to heal.
