Your Dying Spouse 716 - Useful

Giving up gets tempting, and I have lately skirted the edge of that cliff.

Hand it all over to God, say No More!, and just stop making the effort to look forward into tomorrow...because today sucks, and tomorrow will be worse.

Still work to do, though, and here's a sonnet to me.

Here's something that you ought
to know; it should be said,
and I've given it a bit of thought:
you're no good to me dead.
I know you are in too much pain
to let your faint hope thrive,
but you're smart, so use your brain
and bring this home alive.
Learn that awful has an end,
that terror-wells run dry,
that misery can be a friend
and God saw Jesus cry.
So suck it up, Cochise, and live
for we need what you have to give.

Here's Bon Jovi, with Blaze Of Glory.

Thanks to Carol Ashby, Blessed Are The Pure Of Heart is back on Kindle, and will be available in paperback soon.

Friends are everything. I couldn't have done it.

Marley, the canine waif from Afghanistan, whom WE helped save, has a Facebook page! Please drop by to see how happy he is today.

Below are my recent releases on Kindle -please excuse their presence in the body of the blog. I haven't the energy to get them up as 'buttons' in the sidebar. You can click on the covers to go to the Amazon links.

Happy New Year to you, and please forgive my delayed reply. Tough week, and Barb has a bad cold.

  2. Yep, all your fans and followers still need what you have to offer, friend. May you and Barb and all the beloved beasts walk confidently into 2020. You are brave and you show us how to do this well.

    Bless you ...

    1. Jan, it sure has been a long time...and the last doctor I saw (whom Barb sometimes meets atthe grocer's) is dumbfounded that I'm still here.

As am I. I can only ascribe it to God's will. I had a very high level of physical fitnes when this began, and I'm pretty focused on doing the necessary to keep active and stay involved, but those will only take one so far.

Thank you o much for being here, and please excuse my delay in replying.

  6. Greetings Andrew,

I appreciate every post you write.

If you are interested and able, I would love reading a series of posts about your dogs... a little story of each pup, their name, qualities, how they came to you, a photo if you have one, what they've taught you, etc... One of your admirable and inspirational traits is your love of dogs. I'd enjoy hearing how you got started rescuing them,etc...

Of course I understand if this is an unrealistic suggestion as well!

    Warmly,
    Carla

    1. Carla, thank you so much! And the idea of writing about the guys is cool...I'll do this, probably one per week or so. Some are a bit hard to photograph; Labby the Labrador is usually just a black blur.

They have taught me a lot, from never missing a chance to express love to making sure I turn around three times before lying down.

I'm so glad you're here, and I hope your year has gotten off to a great start.
