Your Dying Spouse 593 - Don't Cry For Me FiveMinuteFriday

Yes, it's bad, but it's no tragedy.

It's hard and painful to breathe, and any movement's agony, but it could be way worse; I still have my soft and bouncy hair.

In the end, yes, I'm going to die, but I'm going to a better place.

And I'll save a spot at the bar for you.

Don't cry for me FiveMinuteFriday,
the truth is, I'm really okay
through every bad day
and bloodstained bouquet
God's on my side,
He keeps me strong.
Let the devil hide,
we'll ring his gong.
Someday it will be finished,
and it won't be a defeat,
won't be diminished,
it'll be complete
and I'll await you there,
with a beer and beach chair.

Music, of course, is madonna singing Don't Cry For Me, Argentina from Evita. Casting madonna as Eva Peron may seem like the weirdest Hollywood decision on record, but it worked.

Thanks to Carol Ashby, Blessed Are The Pure Of Heart is back on Kindle, and will be available in paperback soon.

Friends are everything. I couldn't have done it.

Marley, the canine waif from Afghanistan, whom WE helped save, has a Facebook page! Please drop by to see how happy he is today.

Below are my recent releases on Kindle -please excuse their presence in the body of the blog. I haven't the energy to get them up as 'buttons' in the sidebar. You can click on the covers to go to the Amazon links.

    2. I was so delighted to meet PRIEST AZIBA after a long time looking for help in order to fix the ups and downs with my boyfriend. We lived together for two years without any problems until this year when he started seeing another girl, When I tried talking to him, he decided to leave me for her which made me so heart broken after all we have been through together, he even stopped picking up my calls and also blocked me from calling him. I love him dearly and couldn't accept losing him that's why I decided to seek help from PRIEST AZIBA through his number +2348100368288, he helped me quickly in one day and as I speak my boyfriend is back to me with lots of love and respect like never before. Am expecting more good things to happen in our relationship.

  2. I am trying to place the bouncy hair guy. Was he in the movie Shrek? I am thankful that I have gotten to know you and Barb through Five Minute Friday. I am praying for you both.

  4. I've never liked beer, Andrew, and I've given up alcohol altogether in the last year (long story) but I'll be happy to share one with you in Heaven! Unless there's Cornish Gin and Tonic there, in which case...
Much love and here's to meeting face to face one day. Cheers!

  9. See you in Heaven hopefully soon. We'll miss you here on Earth, but I hate to know how much you're suffering. Still, as the saying goes, God doesn't give us more than we can handle and you're handling it AMAZINGLY well.

  11. Wow. What to say.

First off, I loved Evita, thought Madonna did a great job, immediately recognized the reference in your jingle and found it poignant.

Second, I have been wanting to tell you that I will miss you and to encourage you that soon you'll be in Valhalla for real. Drinking mead with Christ and His company of warriors. Definitely belonging in that august company. But let's face it ... until this post, those were really awkward things to say and possibly unwelcome.

Finally ... my son, who is also named Andrew, has been remarkably faithful about wanting to pray for this other Andrew, whom he now calls "me." We are mostly praying for pain management and encouragement for you and Barbara.

    1. Jennifer, I'm so glad you liked the Evita tag! I had been waiting for the right moment and reight setting to use it.

And thank you so much for the encouragement to Valhalla. It wouldn't have been an unwelcome thing to say; I'm pretty clear-eyed about what's happening. I have no regrets.

Please give your Andrew a great big hug from me. His faith and friendship bring tears to my eyes, and that does not happen often. Tell him that I could not have gotten this far without his help and his prayers.

We thank you so uch for your prayers. More than I can say.

    1. Kathryn, thank you so much for the love and prayers...and YOU, with you kind and stalwart words, prove His Faithfulness, for we are truly His representatives. That has been, perhaps, the most important learning of the cancer journey.

I'll have a pot of Jamaica Blue Mountain waiting. The best coffee...bar none!

  13. Awww, Andrew. I continue to pray for you and for Barb and for the dogs. I appreciate your perspective that you are (we all are) going to a far better place where there is no pain and no suffering. I'm enjoying the picture of a beer and a beach chair.

Oh, and the hair . . . that dude has hair any woman would be jealous of. You'd better watch out if that's your hair. ;)
