Your Dying Spouse 600 - Facing Hell With A Friend

The weekend was beyond bad, and I am beginning to think that facing this without intensive medical help wasn't the best idea.

But it wasn't a choice. No insurance, and I won't beggar Barb for palliative care.

But hey, it could be worse.

It's a beautiful day, and I am here to enjoy it.

Another lump doth hell presage
and this is terrifying.
I will not live to see old age;
it says I'll soon by dying.
I would ignore this, want to run
but it's there with every breath
and as fear accretes by the tonne
I see the face of death.
I wish I could have but a day
of freedom from this trial,
but my feet are on the way
of my personal Green Mile.
Then Christ, my Simon, takes my Cross,
and with Him, I can bear this loss.

Just for fun, here's Carl Carlton with Everlasting Love. The title is so fitting.

Thanks to Carol Ashby, Blessed Are The Pure Of Heart is back on Kindle, and will be available in paperback soon.

Friends are everything. I couldn't have done it.

Marley, the canine waif from Afghanistan, whom WE helped save, has a Facebook page! Please drop by to see how happy he is today.

Below are my recent releases on Kindle -please excuse their presence in the body of the blog. I haven't the energy to get them up as 'buttons' in the sidebar. You can click on the covers to go to the Amazon links.

  1. Andrew... Isn't there any way we can do to help... Go fund me? Could that help get you some 'big gun' pain relief?

  3. Gosh, your writing is prolific in this season. I left a song for you in response to your comment.

    No ... don't worry. I didn't sing!

  4. Hey friend, I so appreciate your words. I continue to pray for you as you endure this horrible hard. And, I love your thoughts expressed via poetry. The idea of Christ bearing your (and each of our) cross really stopped me. He does carry what we can't, doesn't He?

Sending you a very gentle hug.

  5. I don't know about the state where you guys live, but where we are, cancer is an automatic approval of Medicaid and Medicare. And when you need hospice or anything like that, Medicare pays 100% of that. You should look into that. It's there to help folks like you!

    Okay, lecture over.

Jerry and I continue our prayers for you. He's been in and out of the hospital six times in the past seven weeks.... kidney stones and a dangerous UTI bacteria that just won't go away. And then today, I took him to the ER once again because he was so sick with the flu AND another UTI and problems with the kidney stones. Been tough for the past six months, in fact. But we plug right along, dependent on God for everything. He knows what we need, and many times we have to wait to know the answers. He ALWAYS answers in one way or another. His Son carries us, even when we don't realize it. Just like He's doing do for you and Barb!

Sending up lotsa prayers and asking God's blessings on you guys!

    1. Diane, thank you for this...we're looing into options, but there are some procedural obstacles, including the need for a current invasive test that would have a very high mortality.

We're praying for you and Jerry, and yes...God has the answers, and He carries us.

      Always.
