This week's Five Minute Friday prompt is CHRISTMAS SWEATER.
I couldn't face looking for quotes, 'cause they'd likely come with pictures. So you get a poem instead. Sorry.
'Tis the season of the Sweater,
roused from where it had been sleeping,
an artform in which worse is better;
we don it and will soon be reaping
our friends' aghast puzzled stares
that imply our marbles fled.
Why else a scene of polar bears
pulling Glam-Rock Santa's sled?
And what's with the LEDs
blinking where they shouldn't blink?
Their eyes implore, oh, pretty please,
did you even stop to think
that now you've made me anxious, fretful,
that I won't find something more dreadful?
For some Glam-Rock Christmas cheer, here's Wizzard with I Wish It Could Be Christmas Every Day.
It's a really sweet and charming song and video. I hope you'll give it a try.
Sylvia had a Christmas Sweater. She shredded it.

Loved your sonnet, and started to watch the video but my computer suddenly shut down, and when I was able to get it up again and restore the pages, I could no longer view the video. 😢
ReplyDeleteAh, who doesn't love an ugly Christmas sweater?
