Your Dying Spouse 693 - Passing The Torch

There are projects I con't complete, now, and the writing is really on the wall.

But I can pass them on, and in that find a measure of satisfaction, and of peace.

No, it won't be my vision. But I'll have made a contribution.

And, surprisingly, that's enough.

At the end of my ability,

and the finish of my dreams,

there's a curious sterility

and life's not what it seems.

I'd thought there's be a tearing,

a grievous sense of loss,

a martyrdom for wearing

while counting up the cost.

But, instead, a sense of peace

gives structure to the days.

I loose my grip, and release

my hopes to brighter ways.

So much of that which I held dear

is in other hands, for whom I cheer.
