Too awesome. Too heartbreakingly awesome.
Too many moments in the darkness, when only the darkness answers.
And where will you turn?
Did Mary feel this, knowing that the child she was carrying would complete her soul, and break her heart? She new the prophecy of Isaiah, after all.
When the angel told her of her high calling, did she sit for a moment, letting a holy silence dispel the darkness, before answering him,
"Behold the handmaid of the LORD; be it unto me according to thy word." (Luke 1:38, KJV)
Be it unto you, dear caregiver, according to the marriage promise you made, for decency's sake, and for the Love of God.
What other music could there be here, but Silent Night, sung by David Archuleta and the Mormon Tabernacle Choir?
Today's keyword for Advent-Photo-A-Day is silence.

Andrew, what a beautiful post. I've been thinking a lot about Mary this Christmas season. I can totally see her taking a moment in silence to consider the angel's words and align her desires with God's plan. Thank you for giving me this pause in my day to consider silence.
ReplyDeleteI continue to pray for you, Barb, and your wonderful dogs, my friend.
