Your Dying Spouse 545 - I'm Thankful For LFO {FMF}

This post was originally going to be something different, a hymn to the blessings in my daily life.

And then I heard that Devin Lima died of cancer at the age of 41. He left a wife and six kids.

He was part of the pop band LFO (Lite Funky Ones), along with Rich Cronin and Brad Fischetti.

Rich Cronin died of cancer in 2010, at the age of 35. Devin and Brad carried on as a duo, and now there is just one.

LFO is not Mozartt or Mahler; it isn't the Beatles.

It was simply a good-natured pop trio made up of decent family guys who put out cheerful, fun songs.

The sort of thing we need right now in America.

We all want to be great, and few of us are. But these guys, they did their best to entertain, and to show that life can be upbeat.

They showed that life can be goofy, and fun.

My thoughts and prayers are with the sole surviving member, Brad Fischetti; it's so hard to see friends taken, so soon.

Joy To The World is a rightly popular Christmas song; but in our own way, we can bring joy to the world.

Rich and Devin and Brad did just that, and I am thankful to have shared this place in time with them.

I hope you'll give a listen to what I think is their best song and video, Every Other Time. Yes, there are a lot of girls in bikinis. Yes, it's a full-out party. But it's fun, and it gives a short story with a happy and sweet ending. Please watch it, and enjoy.

Thanks to Carol Ashby, Blessed Are The Pure Of Heart is back on Kindle, and will be available in paperback soon.

Friends are everything. I couldn't have done it.

Marley, the canine waif from Afghanistan, whom WE helped save, has a Facebook page! Please drop by to see how happy he is today.

Below are my recent releases on Kindle -please excuse their presence in the body of the blog. I haven't the energy to get them up as 'buttons' in the sidebar. You can click on the covers to go to the Amazon links.

  5. I'm amazed that you are always #1; good for you. So many bands that I used to enjoy in my youth have disbanded or members have died. But that's this life. So thankful to have eternal life through Jesus. Our bodies may waste away but we will live on. How thankful I am for that.

    1. Debbie, I love your perspective here...that yes, all bands disband, and so do our bodies, but WE are saved by Jesus' grace.

  6. That's so sad that two of the band members have died so young. This is a lovely tribute. Bringing joy and fun to people is a good legacy to have.

    1. Lesley, it really did hit me, how sad it was...and Rich Cronin did a lot of charitable work in his last years.

I think they can indeed be happy with their legacy; I'm happy they were here.

  9. Sad, sad, sad, this is too sad. I think it's ok to get mad, mad, mad at the big C. I'll be glad, glad, glad when they discover a better cure or better preventative measures. Having said that, I feel better.

BTW, I'm no longer receiving your posts in my inbox. Wuz up? Should I re-subscribe?

I'll be glad when there's a cure, too.

Probably a good idea to resubscribe...I don't know what's happening, but blogger can be twitchy.

  11. I haven't heard of this band, but that's not surprising since I don't listen much to the radio anymore. I have my Amazon playlists that I listen to all the time! Lol! But I liked the catchy tune, Andrew!

And it truly is so sad when someone young dies. I bet this brings into greater focus your own shortened days, my friend. But I'm grateful that God continues to keep you around to inspire us and remind us of all that is important in life and relationships. Prayers and hugs being sent!

    1. Beth, I'm so glad to be able to share a song you enjoyed...I ran across them by happy accident, years ago.

I think almost all of us are kind of too young when we die...I know I am! I'm just glad to still be here, with another day, and able to appreciate prayers and hugs.
