Centre Of The Storm

When forced to drink defeat's hard cup,

and there seems nowt more to do,

then go ahead, put both feet up,

and pop a can of brew,

(or whole six-pack, beer don't bite!),

and ponder ye this riddle

that oft comes to me in the night:

What use might be this middle

ground we live, 'twixt Heaven, hell,

what purpose can there be?

Why won't God ring the final bell

for failure's victory?

Or does He need to see our best

in the centre of the mess?

Music from R.E.M, with It's The End Of The World As We Know It choreographed to the engagingly goofy gamer anime, Final Fantasy.

Thanks to Carol Ashby, Blessed Are The Pure Of Heart is back on Kindle, and will be available in paperback soon.

Friends are everything. I couldn't have done it.

Below are my recent releases on Kindle -please excuse their presence in the body of the blog. I haven't the energy to get them up as 'buttons' in the sidebar. You can click on the covers to go to the Amazon links.

  4. It may be that you're still needed here on earth -- to "hear" your story. I actually looked for you and kind of panicked when I didn't see you on the top of the link list. PS I'm deaf and yet, REM's "It's the end of the world" is one of my favorite songs. I used to watch VH1 and MTV back in the days when music videos were popular and many of them were captioned. The video for this song was a visual feast of a mess. The beat is lovely not to mention the lyrics appealed to me.

  5. I'd much rather see the inside of my eyelids in the middle of the night, but alas, that doesn't always seem to be the case ...

  6. Oh my dear friend,...I’m so selfishly happy you’re still here, yet sorrowful at your immense pain. I’ve gotten so much joy and encouragement from your blog, and you’ve given me strength to continue my own fight,...but alas, I’m so sad to read of all you’re going thru. Take as deep a breath as you can get, dear friend, and relax,....do not respond to this email, I don’t want you to worry, just take care of yourself and Barb please!
I will enjoy meeting you in heaven the other side of this blog!
