Marriage is not about two people looking at each other. Do that for too long, and it's "Good grief, what was I thinking? (Grief is the Five Minute Friday word-prompt, an I had to work it in somehow. Hey, don't laugh...it works, kinda.)
No, marriage is all about two people looking forward together, with shared values, and a shared vision.
I think that we should
find a way
to work together, Barb
and I,
at a job that’s also
play,
and is sweet unto the
eye.
We do have our share of
talents,
quick response and no
mean strength,
agility, and also
balance;
oh, I could go on at
length!
There is one venue that
will serve
our skill-set
cornucopia,
and thus we really do deserve
a shot at Wrestlemania,
a coed tag-team none can
match,
Genghis Kong and
SassyQuatch.
For anyone who's wondering how it's going, the simple answer is, really bad. Can't take anything near a full breath, and tumours in the armpits have my arms out at an angle, like the Michelin Man.
But hey, would Hulk Hogan quit? Jesse Ventura? Me neither!

God bless Andrew. Totally get the wrestlemania bit. I pray for some relaxing in the fight to enjoy some special times with Barb.

DeleteHi Andrew, I have an older second cousin in Costa Rica battling back from severe health issues (I've mentioned her before). She's an artist, architect, and author, but her illness stopped her adventures. She could barely walk and has numbness in her limbs. But she pressed on, and on, not willing to let her illness defeat her. She's named her walker "Johnny" and they go walking every day, each day increasing the amount of steps they take together. On Sunday she wrote that she picked up her paints and paintbrush and wondered if after 18 months of not painting and spiraling down, if she still had it in her. She sketched a flower, bird, and lush background flora, then painted them. She said she had muscle memory or something like that that kicked in. I called it a celebration in my Facebook comment to her. I think the same for you, each day, each week, and quite possibly each minute is a celebration that you made it through another one. Your cheerleaders celebrate with you. We're glad you're here. Unpleasantness, pain, tumors, not fun in the least, but you carry on. I thank God you're still here and fighting on, and that you have Barb with you "at a job that's also play." God bless you real good.

It is or me, too, a celebration...just living. Most mornings are clear, an I try to catch the sun just as it's rising, as the corona peeks over the eastern mountains...it's kind of like a special birthay candle, just for me.
I'm glad to still be here; and I'm glad you're here.
