Your Dying Spouse 760 - I Wish I Were...

Sometimes we all want to be something else. (I sure would not want to have terminal cancer, but there ya go.)

White folks want to be black so they can better empathize with the victims o racism.

Black folks, I imagine, sometimes want to be white, to live a day without feeling demeaned by so much of the world.

Asians want to be Europeans, and not have a genetic disposition to alcohol intolerance (and yes, Barb can easily drink Mongolian Me under the table, thank you for asking).

And sometimes, everyone just wants to step away from the whole thing.

I wish I were a Vulcan,
a dude with pointy ears,
each logic-driven function
immune to human fears.
I wish that all emotion
could be hammered down,
for feelings are an ocean
in which the brightest drown.
I wish that all decision
might be rational,
without the heart’s revision,
deaf unto the pull
of the limbic lizard-brain
that in every one remains.

Here' a compilation of some of Spock's best moments. Enjoy!

do try to answer each comment in a timely fashion, but with Internet providers really stretched, I have only about half of the access I once did. Please bear with me!

Thanks to Carol Ashby, Blessed Are The Pure Of Heart is back on Kindle, and will be available in paperback soon.

Friends are everything. I couldn't have done it.

Below are my recent releases on Kindle -please excuse their presence in the body of the blog. I haven't the energy to get them up as 'buttons' in the sidebar. You can click on the covers to go to the Amazon links.

  1. Spock always one of my favorites! Prayers always for Andrew! We have the mind of Christ. Something Spock would see no logic in. Ah, this makes us better than a Vulcan.
