Your Dying Spouse 667 - I'm Sorry

There's so much that was planned, that will now be missed

And I am sorry for that.

I'm sorry that it's gone this way;
you deserve a better life, my dear,
than one in such mad disarray,
and haunted by cold fear.
We had our plans, as most do,
but few ever came to light.
When each burning day was through,
sleep came with the night.
On day you will go on ahead,
but not, I hope, alone,
for the friends you've made in my stead
are bright seeds that you have sown.
The Reaper's bony hand comes, ungloved;
in sorrow shall I die, my love.

Music from the Little River Band, with Reminiscing.

Thanks to Carol Ashby, Blessed Are The Pure Of Heart is back on Kindle, and will be available in paperback soon.

Friends are everything. I couldn't have done it.

Marley, the canine waif from Afghanistan, whom WE helped save, has a Facebook page! Please drop by to see how happy he is today.

Below are my recent releases on Kindle -please excuse their presence in the body of the blog. I haven't the energy to get them up as 'buttons' in the sidebar. You can click on the covers to go to the Amazon links.

  2. so ... what's Barbara think of your bent toward poetry in this difficult season, friend?

    is she writing anything for herself?

    i'm thinking of her and praying for her even as I tap on this keyboard.

    1. Linda, what thoughts (and writings) she has, she's kept to herself.

      Kind of like a prayer closet.

      She is grateful for your thoughts and prayers!

  3. Your poetry is beautiful. Perhaps when you're gone Barbara can compile it into a book.

    1. Jan, thank you so much. They will be compiled into maybe a couple of books (and perhaps a devotional). There's a bit to choose from; about 1300, all written this year.

      Never was much interested in poetry before. Weird.

    I agree with Janet! Your words are precious and insightful and full of wisdom. And beautifully poetic.
