Your Dying Spouse 352 - Death And Charlottesville

The weekend was a personal-best (?) crappy, so this will be short (it's also late, and I am sorry).

There's a definite connexion between recent events in Charlottesville and terminal illness. In both, things are made worse by anger and resentment.

The only thing that replaces anger is love.

But then, the Fab Four knew this when they wrote Revolution. The last verse says it all:

You say you'll change the Constitution,
well, you know...
we'd all love to change your head.
You tell me it's the institution,
well, you know...
you better free your mind instead...

I do ask that you be patient with my slow replies to your comments (which we treasure). I'm trying to stay caught up.

Still hoping to get the new and improved version of Blessed Are The Pure Of Heart up and running in the near future. Just haven't had the energy to do it yet...but if you would like to read it, please say so in your comment and I'd be glad to send you a PDF (which should fit your Kindle).

I have another blog, "Starting The Day With Grace". The focus is a grace quote from someone you might not expect (like, say Mick Jagger) and a short commentary. I hope you'll join me.

Marley update... been moved to a sanctuary, and Bay County will revise their 'dangerous dog' codes.

WE MADE A DIFFERENCE!

And marley has a Facebook page! Please drop by to see how happy he is today.

If you can, please do leave a comment. I am trying to answer all, and I am failing, but please know this - I read and treasure each one.

Below are my recent releases on Kindle -please excuse their presence in the body of the blog. I haven't the energy to get them up as 'buttons' in the sidebar. You can click on the covers to go to the Amazon links.

  1. YES!! You know those boys could play guitar! (My comment on your last post about this song really stuck in my head since then, and then I find this lol.)

Hey, Andrew... "you know it's gonna be alright."

Shooby-do-wah, shoo-shooby-do-wah! (Translation: Continued prayers for you guys, and prayers that the rest of the world stops being angry and turns to love.)

  2. They sure could, Diana! (And I'm so glad you enjoyed finding this here!)

It will be alright. All hurts will be healed.

We so appreciate the prayers, and wait and pray with you for the world to turn its heart to love.

It's only a matter of doing it.

  3. I'm with you, Andrew. Love is what is needed most in this world. So much more is accomplished through love and not hate. I recently wrote a poem called "Love Must Always Be Our Song." It's in my latest blog post if you feel up to taking a look. Many blessings to you and Barb with love and my God give comfort and strength. https://www.gaylswright.com/2017/08/18/speak-hope-art-poetry/

  4. I remember the song lyrics, "What the world needs now is love, sweet love. That's the only thing we haven't plenty of."Who sang that?

    1. Jan I remember that song so well! It was Jackie DeShannon who sang it. The composition was by Burt Bacharach and Hal David...I miss those geniuses.

  5. Andrew, yes. Love is a huge key in bringing rest to our country. It sometimes seems like the harder choice, but it's definitely the better choice.

Continuing to pray for you, my friend.

    1. jeanne, I kinda figure that if love weren't the harder choice, it wouldn't be the better choice. The narrow road, or something ike that?

Thank you so much for the prayers. Today was kind of bad.

  6. Loved seeing thatPaul McCartney's baby-face once again! And though I am a Beatles fan, I have to add that I don't believe we can achieve this "love" that is written about in the song without the Lord--who "is Love." It's no wonder we've failed year after year and decade after decade ... Thanks for sharing, Andrew!

    1. Beth, I think you're absolutely right. The Lord is vital to any reach for love...without Him, it goes terribly wrong.

The Beatles' faith, as expressed (usually implicitly) in their music is interesting. George, in his solo career, definitely expressed his Christian faith, and it's a pity we lost him so young.

  7. Be as slow as you wish or need to be. Just don't leave until you say goodbye. LOVE.
