Your Dying Spouse 171 - Some Days Are Like This

There are days like this when you are dying...when you realize that the best speech has no words, and the best times can not be measured on a clock.

The past is already past.
Don't try to regain it.
The present does not stay.
Don't try to touch it.
From moment to moment.
The future has not come;
Don't think about it
Beforehand.
Whatever comes to the eye,
Leave it be.
There are no commandments
To be kept;
There's no filth to be cleansed.
With empty mind really
Penetrated, the dharmas
Have no life.
When you can be like this,
You've completed
The ultimate attainment.

- Layman P'ang

If you can, please do leave a comment. I am trying to answer all, and I am failing, but please know this - I read and treasure each one.

Below are my recent releases on Kindle -please excuse their presence in the body of the blog. I haven't the energy to get them up as 'buttons' in the sidebar. You can click on the covers to go to the Amazon links.

  2. "The past is the past don't try to regain it." Wise advice.

    1. It can be so tempting, sometimes, Alecia. I have learned and relearned the refrain form Linkin Park's song "Iridescent"..."let it go".

      Thanks so much for being here!
