Five Minute Friday: MEND

 

I think this can't be mended 

however hard the angels try.

Is this what God intended?

Is this the way I'm going to die,

with searing pain through every night,

deep inside each tumour'd bone?

Is there nothing left to fight?

Must I feel bereft, alone?

But slow and gentle comes the answer,

that to die is truly gain,

and the Christ will be the answer

that will conquer fear and pain,

for He walks beside me, still,

unto my own Calvary hill.

Sylvia told Jesus not to forget the ice cream.
