I was tempted to call it quits at one point, but finally grew up and realized that marriage is a real ministry. Once I learned how to stand by my husband regardless of the circumstances, our relationship strengthened. He discouraged us from believing the Hollywood lies of all-romance because he'd lived long enough to see the damage it could cause when either women or men had unrealistic expectations.
